Numbers, in both cases, are what decides. USA had much more settler colonialism than Spanish colonies. So you get lots of white people with 1-3% native ancestry that they find out about from genetic tests instead of mestizos.- Word Count: 40

Not surviving as a distinct ethnic group =/= genocide. Where are the all the tribes that formed Poland, Germany, France? If you know history (or played Total War) you know what i'm talking about. How successful that would be is hard to say. We have similar, longer running efforts in North Korea, PRC and Soviet Union to compare, and the results vary a lot.
