There's a difference on the Conservative side. We have actual codified political and moral principles. It's certainly true that some people go too far, but there's a standard by which they can be judged.
Modern leftism is built on a post-modern foundation, which rejects the idea of objective truth itself. Their morality consists of literally whatever they want it to, and their ideological framework considers it not just acceptable, but expected, to change what is considered right and wrong moment by moment as it suits.

Lots of celebrities and a bunch of writers and artists for example, will get away with making stuff that others will nitpick for whatever can be called bigoted or likely to be "too manly" and such

If someone calls me in a sneering tone "bitch ass White Boy", then they don't get to complain when they get called "Nigger" right back. That's a peeve of mine for some time by the way.
