United States George Floyd Protests, Reactions and Riots

Definitely not those peaceful BLM protesters causing trouble

brave and oppressed as they are

Still in the interests of balance...

Looking through the news though there seem to be more bloodied and beaten white people surrounded by masked and helmeted 'peaceful protesters' with Plod in the middle as usual.

Truck Drivers Say They Won’t Deliver To Cities with Defunded Police Departments

One thing I've noticed is the media has used the word "reckoning", a lot. "Military faces reckoning with confederate names", "Mississippi faces reckoning with confederate flag", "America faces reckoning with racism".

Because I'm lazy, I'm quote to Google definitions.

the action or process of calculating or estimating something.
"last year was not, by any reckoning, a particularly good one"

a person's view, opinion, or judgment.
"by ancient reckoning, bacteria are plants"

  • a bill or account, or its settlement.
    plural noun: reckonings
  • the avenging or punishing of past mistakes or misdeeds.
"the fear of being brought to reckoning

Hmm, the last definition seems interesting. Google says its an archaic definition. But the context clues provide us what we need.

They fear the people, which is why they hate them.

The word reckoning bespeaks their true intent-they intend to either crush opposition permanently and forever, or be destroyed themselves.

They will not abide neutrality or even passive support-you are either with them or their enemy.

we've seen how they treat their friends its safer to be their enemies.

"Damn unions. If they betray the people, they will be made to work."

It looks pretty accurate to me.

I know my vehicle travelling to and from work runs out of gas in roughly a week and a half.

And as far as the manufacturing part goes...

From my time working at a factory I can say that we had roughly a full shifts worth of production in storage, both in completed parts and in components needed to actually make the completed parts.

Of course, that assumes that the people in charge of ordering shipments were on top of things. We had one component that had over three weeks worth of inventory, and we'd regularly get new shipments even after I physically went to the main office to tell them to stop doing that.

And some components would have run out if not being supplied three times a shift even though we were supposed to have a full shift's production in stock.

I gave up on mainstream western entertainment for the most part a while ago; I've been entertaining myself with retro, indie, and foreign media for well over a decade now. Because while there have been some things I've enjoyed that are mainstream, or mainstream adjacent, it's a rare thing to find those that don't either bore me to tears, or enrage me to the point where I abandon them partway through in disgust.

Me too, more-or-less

I stopped watching Live Action TV Shows and Movies when I realized how full of assholes and crazies so many of the actors are/were IRL, ESPECIALLY when they start getting political

Hell, I can already tell that many creators were the type who'd definitely side with these rioters after awhile. I bet Isaac Asimov would have been throwing Molotovs and going on about a federal government's need to exist

Why can't these guys just settle for near-mindless entertainment instead of trying to be "relevant"?

I can tell they're gonna be making episodes, movies, documentaries and such portraying these riots as extremely sympathetically and in a VERY whitewashed manner

No wonder why the far left wants to replace truckers with robots they're way too vital for society for them not to control and worse yet a lot of them are conservatives.

"The demise of the modern American city"? It doesn't feel like it could happen, but neither has many other things that did; and if it does, it would mean the Democrats might stand to lose their most significant remaining power base.
It isn’t really a new thing prior to the 80s most inner cities were terrible slums, it was people like Donald Trump who took the risk of redeveloping the inner cities in order to make them places people wanted to live, and the people there now are spitting on that work.

I think that maybe a bit of a Catch-22 or something

If you develop those areas, you’re taking away homes and endanger local businesses with possible rival ones

If you don’t, well you’re a horrible greedy bigot who won’t use your money for the greater good

read, some people are ungrateful, and will complain no matter what you do.

Yup, those with longer memories and actual thinking ability, are probably really fucking MAD at those “protesting” and ruining their neighborhoods more than those businessmen ever could

Here’s a bit of a silver lining, I can see more Neighborhood Watch Committee’s forming even outside those Blue States/Cities/Strongholds

They’ll probably not be able to deal with the YUGE mobs, but their presence will serve as a deterrent

Apparently some black dude got shot by a police officer and already the chief resigned over it. Anyone wanna take bets if this will turn out to be a Mike Brown situation?

Say, how much do people even pay attention to the african-american cops and the african-american citizens and other “POC” who are getting hurt and/or killed by the rioters?

Hell, I expect some vids to have already gone viral and just aren’t being reported by CNN

The whole racism angle is just a front, in my opinion; what they're really angry about is when members of their tribe are killed by people from the enemy tribe. They don't care when black cops die, because they're members of said enemy tribe; and they don't care when members of their tribe kill black people, because they can't blame that on the enemy tribe.

For those who want to read about thes times, here is an article from a lawyer in New York about it
