I think the average age of the dead in Italy was something like 80yrs old and many if not most of those were already sick with shit like cancer or other serious diseases. This is well beyond the average life expectancy for most humans in the world today let alone throughout history. The overall death toll is still far below flu and significantly below stuff like heart disease and cancer etc.
Work on increasing the hospital beds, and building some mass hospitals or something and re-open the economy as soon as possible.
