China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

So this is interesting/good; Trump has asked construction companies to donate N95 dust/construction masks (and not order any more for now) in their inventory to hospitals and health care workers. Apparently they are perfectly acceptable for healthcare purposes.

This is a good move that will hopefully alleviate some shortages.

This is indeed a situation where all walks of society need to cooperate so we can get over this pandemic with as few dead as possible. And not spare a penny. As my President said it, however economics are just economics and human lives are on an entire different level.

And then they complain about how President Trump gave the order too late. These fucks will never utter a positive word about his actions.

Yeah, but bluechecks on twitter are already moaning about how money is just a social construct, and corona proved that debts and rents (which had been put on hold) can be easily discarded.

...Was Ben Garrison always this crazy, or is this a more recent dive off the deep end?
Ignoring the part about 5g and the WHO he does raise a valid point about giving up power to the government because you're afraid of something, particularly when the media is both unreliable at best and unwilling to call certain things to account because they agree with what actions are being taken. The wuhan virus is dangerous but so is letting the government (local or otherwise) decide that if it feels like it it can declare an emergency and limit what people can do. And it's not like it's the first time the American government used a crisis to trample on the rights of it's citizens in a functionally permanent manner.

In the words of Sgt. Oddball. "Don't hit me with those negative waves so early in the morning."

Seriously, wait for the bad news, if it happens, and hope/pray it doesn't. I give not one damn about people's politic now. This is an issue beyond and above politics.

I am facing the very real possiblity of exposure due to my job and the town I live in. I may have already been exposed, and while I do not really fear for my own safety, this beastie could kill a lot of people I care about.

This is not some abstract issue to me.

Trust me, I do hope this whole matter ends with little drama. It's awful, and all we can pray for is that your family and friends make it through.

I was more referring to the 9/11 was an inside job part of that little rant, alongside his rather bizarre conspiracy mongering about Bill Gates.

Yeah that one was kinda bizarre. The whole thing would have been a lot stronger if he hadn't put that in there.

What the hell are these states smoking. This is the Worst thing they could do. Nevermind they will do even worse in the coming weeks/months.

How the hell does releasing the inmates keep them safer , rather than just keeping them locked up?

But wait, there's more! Finally, the evil cops will leave POC neighborhoods alone!

Theres precedent though. After one American city was racked by a bioterrorism attack followed by a devastating earthquake, in the wake of the collapse of infrastructure, government and civic society, the Arkham Asylum decided to release all of its infamous inmates since it could do nothing to take care of them in the wake of the crisis.

You can read all about it in the sobering graphic historical novel Batman: No Mans Land.

I don't recall the specifics... There might've been some hiccups but I think in general It worked fine.
