Well it's quite obvious that Mary Shelley is a racist bigot like HP Lovecraft, JRR Tolkien and Augustine of Hippo. :p I mean it is her name on the cover... Why would she do this?!

It wasn't wholly zero effort of course... The artist did give him glowy green eyes, bolts in his neck, an iconic forehead scar and some weird upper lip thing.

I'm just glad that Moby Dick has a Black Captain in it now. If there was one 19th century novel that needed more characters of color its that one... Where only like half of the named crewmembers are people of color.

Plus you have no idea how gratifying it will be to the young reader to see the character whom Ishmael denotes as tyrannical, evil and craziness personified portrayed by a large Black man.

And think of all of the powerful metaphors literary critics and reviewers can derive from a powerful force of nature personified in the great White sperm whale finally smashing this boat asunder, decisively ending it's Black Captains journey for misguided vengeance when the WHITE whale was only forcefully defending itself and it's home from the greedy and petty encroachment of an exploitative multicultural crew of marauding hunters yet leave only the young innocent White Christian Ishmael alive... :unsure:

Most of my books are .Mobi and Amazon files for my Kindle

I don’t think Amazon will be sending mass updates changing the covers just yet to this ironically racist stuff

How long till Barnes & Nobles realises that they accidentally did something racist and apologize profusely for it, I wonder
 
The BBC's arrogance and complacency will ultimately be its own downfall; but never forget that these people think they're better than you, smarter than you, more deserving of happiness than you. They are narcissists and sociopaths, and they deserve little if any sympathy. When it finally falls, my advice to the UK is to consign the BBC to the dustbin of history, alongside everyone associated with it, and build something new.

Hollywood, and the entertainment industry in general, has become so entitled, self-absorbed, and divorced from reality, that they've convinced themselves that they deserve your money no matter what they do. And if you refuse to hand it over, that makes you a bad person. Why does our culture practically worship these people? When many of them so clearly despise their customers?

Because before the 2010s they were mostly just the producers of the entertainment(not just Hollywood)we loved

They were already a little WOKE due to always being Communist-Red for decades, they were already living in a bubble, but it wasn’t too noticable

But simply put, they weren’t switching target audiences at the time

They’re living off the goodwill or trust and money they accumulated decades ago

A century of Hollywood using media to push the worship of their product into all pores of the society, making themselves a form of nobility for this age. However for the last decade or so, their exalted status began losing it's prestige and on of the ways of protecting their glamour illusion is signal their virtue more. Mora and more and more...
 
What gets me with Wokeness is that it seems to increase social strife and acrimony more than anything.

Stuff like the Gillette commercial, alongside say certain movies and shows-are intended precisely to provoke and enrage the anti woke people, like the idea seems to be manipulating mass psychology by provoking disputes over whether or not a lesbian kiss or female heroine who says mean things about men is either progressive or the worst thing ever.

Like-these companies and the woke activists within them must know they provoke opposition? Opposition which can and has affected their financial success.

So I suspect there is something else going on. Some sort of broad scale social engineering and mass manipulation.

Of which the anti work crowd is being played. Or is being tricked by the magician’s illusion and not noticing the hand elsewhere.
 
Keep in mind that these are people who are born, raised and educated within a narrow alternate reality bubble. They believe that people like them are the world and are only kept down by evil system of white patriarchy, with their virtue signaling being the bright becaon that will bring the unwashed ignorant masses into the light.
This is why they simply couldn't comprehend how Trump won and had to create Russian conspiracy to stabilize their illusions.
