depends on how high profile they are.

For Pelosi, its not got going to be a lynch mob that gets her, a whole lot of very important people spent years giving her a whole lot of money. The tech industry, the entertainment industry and a bunch of other very important people in this state put their necks on the fucking line because we fully understood how fucked they were.

The situation was such that laws were broken and some very important people can go to jail for what they did on her behalf, and then she fucked everything essentially out of spite.

No she's not going to be killed by a lynch mob, she's going to be epstined quite simply put she fucked up a very very important job and I fully expect her to die in an accident.

For the state governor who gets stuck being in control? They might need to flee the country, the state senators are fucked but below that you are probally safe if things go tits up by fleeing to the other side of the country because your low profile enough that your not going to be on enough peoples radar.

In other words you either want to be very high up or very low on the ladder and the people in between are fucked, if things go completely tits up.
Isn't that extreme?

I said completely tits up.

And when you tell a whole bunch of people who are recently retired that you cant pay their ultra generous retirements that you promised, when all of those social programs that people have gotten dependent on go bust all at once, and when there are so few jobs because of anti business pushes and land is expensive because of bad policies.

Yeah it can get that bad.

Calfornia has a long history of going hard populist, and when this all shits the bed its going to be ugly.

Something tells me term limits will get abolished sooner or later altogether.

Nah, blame the demorats. They and their pets among the GOP are at fault for everythint bad.

As nice as that would be.

We have to take responsibility for our fuck ups, a lot of the worst stuff the woke movement, the censorship and a lot of other fuckery is directly our fault, because we made it happen. In order to learn from this we all have to take collective responsbility for our fuck ups so we don't put the country through this again.

California became rich and powerful and we abused both at the expense of the nation.

I apologize for that, for being too weak to stop this.

For not seeing this coming for a lot of things.

I will not put it past California Democrats to abolish term limits altogether.

They're not going to do that until the Governator is dead/too old to try to run again, only Term limits kept him from reshaping California last time as they were able to delay and filibuster until he ran out of terms. Without that their strategy would have failed.

You're referring to Schwarzenegger?

Wilson and Schwarzenegger are the only two living former Republican Governors left in California.

You're thinking the California Democrats are quietly thinking long-term: wait for them to die, then abolish term limits altogether.

The party lives and dies by the concept after me the deluge. Its all short term thinking because the state is that fucked.

Yes, in truth Schwarzenegger is likely already too old to run again but it's broader than that.

Term Limits are a valuable tool for the establishment. If the peasants foolishly elect the wrong candidate, the establishment can sandbag and delay until the term has run out and the candidate is gone, then go back to business as usual (This is quite literally how Schwarzenegger's terms went). Term limits do nothing for the people except tell them they're no longer allowed to vote for the candidate they want.

I am still staunchly OPPOSED and AGAINST term limits period!

And the lack of them allows them to just make a career out of getting rich off the taxpayers, as Bernie Sanders and Nancy Pelosi have done.

Legislators aren't the only ones crafting law, though. Term limits strengthen the influence of lobbyists, which I would argue is the opposite of what we want to do. I'm more sympathetic to term limits that are very high (20 years?) or age limits.

Hopefully the push to ban stock trading among congressmembers works, though.

If memory serves me right, I strongly think CA's term limits was blatantly & openly targeted at the flamboyant & controversial Willie Lewis Brown, Jr., (D), who served 14 years as Speaker of the CA State Assembly.

There were rumors that Brown & then-CA Governor Pete Wilson (R) despised each other.
