Yeah, I mean if they had put some Chechov's gun in the scenario where she explained she was familiar with that class of ship it would have been better. At least Rey kinda-sorta had the excuse of Force sensitivity affording her “special aptitude” there.
Fennec, though… no. Decent piloting skills are one thing, but mastering Slave I’s control layout that fast is another.
Also, seismic charges were kind of a niche weapon if we go by the prequel movies, but theoretically she could know how a control system for them looks and could have gone, "Seismic charges, sweet weapon, Laurance, er, I mean Boba."
As a whole I think there was a concerted effort to make her look more capable than Fett IMHO, so there is at least some woke pandering going on, on the other hand I want to see way, way more of her, as long as she doesn't outshine the actual main character.
It is The Book of Boba Fett, not the Book of Fennec, not that I wouldn't mind a spinoff of that nature, though, preferably involving the albino Twi'lek from that bar. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*
Also, I think we all forgot the elephant in the room.
NAMELY THAT THE USE OF THE SEISMIC CHARGE AGAINST THE SARLACC JUST TORPEDOED DACEDS-WORTH OF ICS-BASED STAR WARS WEAPONS YIELDS-WHANK!!!!!!
A run of the mill 20th century missile with comparable-sized warhead probably could have done more damage.
Although I am sure that someone will try and prove the Sarlacc's gut is made of neutronium and it somehow absorbed 99.99999999999% of the seismic charge's energy, while somehow not vaporising all of the thing's stomach acid and its various tentacles.
