I myself struggle to believe it. Intelligence Agencies doing shady stuff I can understand, but active gunfire (by the sounds of it) between them and the military? That strikes me as unlikely. The CIA are not ONI for heaven's sake.
Then again...stranger things have happened in history...
I should hope gunfire and deaths weren't a thing that actually happened. That's the sort of shit that would require something to have gone spectacularly wrong both in the area and in at a minimum one of the organizations involved. Hardly something you'd want under any circumstances much less the present one.
It's the sort of thing you'd expect from a technothriller and while this year has been exceptionally weird it hasn't been that weird yet. And yes I am prepared to eat my words (and likely some alcohol) if it turns out to actually have happened.

If the CIA was completely rogue, and got the insurrection act dropped on them, how bad could it get?
They have to have all the blackmail, probably sitting on evidence many foreign VIPs that they use as leverage. We've already had a grunt court-martialed because he snitched on one of their informants raping young boys during, it could only have gotten worse.
Even so, shouldn't that just result in a verbal fight over who has authority that gets kicked up the chain of command for both parties involved rather then an out and out gunfight? This supposedly happened in the middle of Frankfurt not a warzone.

That's a very serious accusation to say the least.
He can deam them a rouge orginaztion and can basically be burned, having all funding cut, and basically go "You are no longer a US agency, you are now broke. WHat you do is up to you."
If they are doing an off the books against the US crime, the US Military has full force allowed in stopping such activities. We swore to uphold the constitution and defend it from threats Foreign and domestic

CIA is well hated among the rank and file. There were rumors when we found those chemical weapon stockpiles that a CIA spook was working with our S2 element. Can't confirm that though, but I did hear some people bitching about it.
I work in the IC, and even those of us that have worked with NSA and all the other all say the CIA is shady as fuck! See, NSA is a bunch of on the spectrum people. CIA on the other hand, is a bunch of shady fucks. They are always up to something

I can't help but wonder how much self control it took for the guy responding to her not to just call her an idiot outright. Though he loses points for not also saying that the costs of actually securing and rebuilding Libya's oil infrastructure and then selling it would likely cost more then the oil itself.

I don't have high hopes for the Biden staff seeing as many are from Bush and Obama. Either way there's fun times to be had.
