Television You Maniacs! You Drew It Up! (Hulu resurrects Animaniacs)

It's something that approaches the level of intriguing me enough to pay for and override my cheapskate soul (is Hulu one you have to pay for? I can't keep track of all these kids and their dang-nabbin' streaming-services anymore, even. Don't look at me like that. Get off my lawn!).

Starting in November, it seems Hulu's releasing new episodes of the Animaniacs. With at least the main portion of the voice-acting talent coming back on. Brief lookabout on the web doesn't tell me much about the writer situation or if there'll be any overlap--though did inform me that a lot of the other characters besides the main three, Pinky, and the Brain are either gone or only making limited appearances.
Pour one out for Minerva Mink and Hello Nurse, Sietchers. Slut-shamed out of work once again by the offices of the WB.

Is cautious optimism warranted? Or do folks prefer to approach this in the manner of Looney Tunes rehashes where judgement is reserved and pessimistic? Might the show be able to recapture that magic of parody that tiptoed the line of the censors back in the day? Or is it something modern sensibilities just might not grok and this'll end in the same ash-heap as many a previous resurrection of old cartoon property that couldn't change?

There's not much to go off of yet, but since when has that stopped lots of speculation from everybody on the internet?
Suppose there is the update to the art style? Fitting or not? I'm uncommitted and waffley because strong opinions escape me this evening from such short clip. But it was at least a little funny. Or, at least, I laughed.

But...
We know Buttons won't chase Mindy, Rita won't sing a verse, and there'll be no Hello Nurse...
Are the writers flipped? Will they have a script? Will they bother to rehearse?

...And now I've got a two-decade old cartoon theme song stuck in my head.
Again.

Will ''hello miss nurse'' gag even be allowed in this age of offended by everything snowflakes? And ton of their other gags would also twitch the noses of modern day puritans.
Hello Nurse is going to be key to figuring out where this show is going to go; honestly, not including her would be better than perverting her character into something that the regressive left would find acceptable. If she shows up, and she's shaved her head and gained a hundred pounds, I'd give up on the whole thing right there.

I loved the frist one as a kid. But overall I don't expect the new version to be as good. Sometimes shows just hit it rright and you can't recreate the magic even if you bring back writers and the voice actors.

Especially with the current Me Too which will cause parts like Hello Nurse to be dropped while other jokes to be tamed down.

Honestly it is surprising how much stuff got put in the original. I doubt that Animaniacs will be allowed to push the boundaries with the current left leaning cancel culture instead of it just being right wing church moms like the 90s.

Honestly, I'm not even sure that the "Hello Nurse" bits would even land the same way nowadays. For all that the original show was aimed at kids... the reboot is very much not. It's going to be aimed at adults who enjoyed the original show. You don't revive something after 20+ years for kids. Hell, I might have been interested if they were doing something like remastering the original show into HD but otherwise? Yeah, I'll wait to see the reviews.
