Would the Founding Fathers be surprised about USA having become the world's leading superpower?

Basically the title says it all. How do you guys believe Founding Fathers would believe USA to have become the world's leading superpower?

Most likely because they didn't want the US to be a country basically always at war.
But here we are and kicking ass.
They would probably hope we arnt doing the same things the British empire did

I think they would be very surprised on many levels by the US today. The size and scope of the federal government would offend/scare them. The fate of the European powers would shock them. The US replacing Britain as a global power / empire would disappoint them, I expect, for varying reasons depending on which of them were asked.
