What If? WI : You won your revolution?

Let's say you participated in a revolution in your country, not only you survived, but you are part of the "club" of decision-makers and kingmakers so to say. What are going to be your moves ? What would be your do's and don'ts ?

In my case first move for both Italy and Brazil : fire most lawmakers (not MP or regular police) since likely they will support the pre-revolutionary status , Humanities studies in universities/colleges/other get reduced to the bare minum (learning languages, psychology & psychoanalysis and education) same things goes for faculties of law and economy/finance.

Second move : law enforcement is let to deal with criminals and the like as they fit, however there should be measures to avoid abuse of power. I would suggest bodycams but those could be turned off at any moment. Abhorsen probably would have better suggestions.

I'd try to set up stuff to leave people alone who weren't bothering others, and likely end up against the wall in the attempt. In the US, I'd wreck the federal government's power except the military. The rules would be 1) free interstate trade (no special taxation on out of state goods), 2) a statewide military alliance & the ability to raise a capped tax to fund this, 3) the individual right to leave a state, and 4) the individual right to pass through a state carrying goods. Other than that, each state should be free to set up their own rules.

How about law enforcement?

1.Agree,polish lawmakers and gender studies suck
2.Death penalty for murderers, slavers and arsonists who could kill people.Traitors/working as other state agents/ ,too

3. - let people do whatever bussiness they want, except modern weapons and poisons

4.- every normal,not real cryminal,and not agent could have rifle/but not tank/

5.Form militia from normal people.

6.Vote rights only for those who served in militia/army and are not agent or real cryminal.

I'm not sure what specific things I'd do and push for if I was a "power-that-is".

One thing's for certain: I would be the hatchet brigade when it comes to getting rid of unnecessary red tape and bureacratic bloat.

Making things harder and more time consuming for the 99% of everyone who isn't out to game the system just to stop the a small the portion of the ones who are and who go past mere loophole abuse wastes everyones time and money for practically no net benefit.

Plus, when there's less red tape there are fewer loopholes to be exploited in the first place ... making the outright fraudsters you want to stop easier to spot.

Well we need more information. How did we come to power in a revolution ? Who are our Allie’s to reward and who are enemies to purge. Also your idea of letting law enforcement do anything is naive, if this was a violent revolution those guys would be a weak link in the new government they might have loyalty to the old regime.

Austria in 18th century made interesting law about making law - if local village idiot could not undartsandt it,it was changed .
And,village idiots was not shamed for it,only lawmakers.

I would do the same.

well,

I would shutter most of the federal agencies and departments - pretty much everything except State, Justice, Treasury, War (defense, what is this Orwellian crap?), and Interior. Even portions of those would be excised from the body politic.

Would return senators to being chosen by state governments.

Would change the tax structure as follows: Congress passes a budget for year X. That topline budget figure is divided by the total number of adult Americans as of the last census. Every person (natural or corporate) resident in or with a presence in the US receives a bill for that amount on October 1st, with payment due November 1st. Any excess amounts above the budgeted expense are used to pay down outstanding debt. If there is no outstanding debt, the excess is divided up by the number of American nationals as of the last census and the checks are mailed out on December 15th. Note: no exemptions, no credits, no deductions, nada. Sucks for accountants and politicians, but I'm sure both groups are clever enough to come up with other ways to make a living.

Would handle immigration & tourism the same way - entry would be open to all but those carrying lethal communicable disease. Entrants would be charged the full tax amount for that year, with a prorated refund returned to them as they depart. If they commit a felony while in the US, the full amount would be retained and they would be immediately deported. If they destroy or "lose" their passports, they will be offered a life raft, 30 days of food and water, and dropped off outside the 300 mile economic exclusion zone. Failure to provide proof of payment of the entry fee would result in deportation as if they had destroyed their passport. Refugee organizations could simply pay the fee for those they wish to sponsor.

Would remove UN headquarters from US territory, along with associated UN missions.

Would provide nuclear deterrence know how and starter forces (50 warheads and delivery mechanisms for each) to at-risk allies (Taiwan, Poland, Finland, Romania, Slovakia, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Philippines) and begin recalling forces and gear back to the US under the guise of training exercises. If allies want to defend themselves, they would all then be more than capable of doing so. If they can't be bothered to secure their own safety, no idea why we should be bothered to do it for them.

Given that the federal government has been cut so drastically, it will have to cut back on activities as well, out of simple practicality. As such, the regulatory activities supported by removed departments are devolved to the states. If the states don't want to bother with them, then those activities obviously weren't worth it in the first case.

Similarly, the entire idea of the federal government dictating what people can or can not eat or drink has proven not only un-american and daft, but simply unfeasible and unenforceable. The ATF and DEA are disbanded, and federal laws and regulations on such matters are revoked.

TLDR - cut back the federal government severely, institute a version of actual flat tax, free up immigration, but charge for it, arm allies and enable to defend themselves, get out of the world policeman business, admit defeat on the drug war, and stop constantly pestering Americans as they go about their day-to-day. If everyone wants to fight cultural/tribal wars, they can do so without dragging the federal government into their idiocy.

For the USA, the State Department's primary responsibilities revolve around being the diplomatic services of the US government.

50 is more than enough. Germany has no nukes, and for the Russians, one nuclear warhead is all anyone really needs, given how centralized and brittle their current regime is. After all, there is no need to bounce the rubble, just remove the current leadership in a suitably dramatic fashion that will deter whomever ends up as the next king of the hill over there.

After all, if you start dropping city-killers left right and center the end result will be a massive refugee wave heading west. I doubt that is the sort of problem the Polish people need on their plate right now.

I think the plan would be to hit all of Russia to wipe them all out, there would be no refugees because everyone would be dead. The greatest fear is nukes being used as extinction weapons since a leader might be willing to sacrifice themselves if they are a true believer and think their nation would survive. But no one wants to be extinct.

But then Russia would just rise again in 100 years. The radiation won’t stay in Moscow forever.

So? their elites would be gone.Currently Putin state had two kinds of people -
1.Rich,educated ruling elites from Moscov and Petersburg
2.Peons who live elsywhere.

Remove elites, and peons either would be happy to live small lives,or form their own states.
For example tatars, they had once state there.

Veto every single bill that Austria wants passed through the EU system and order all out embassy staff everywhere to call them racist, because fuck them for Schengen.

Ban any and all foreign influence and lobbying in the country.

Send a hell of a lot of people in jail for being corrupt scum.

Open up all the old State Security archives to the public, actually put them on the internet.

Cut useless bloat bureaucracy on all levels.

Permit free market alternatives to our pensions, medical and social insurance systems to exist and remove any taxation on money I vested for retirement up to a certain cap.

Find creative ways to get rid of green EU energy bullcrap, for example I'd put a carbot tax and a solar tax on panels and use the money and diverted EU funds to build more nuclear power plants and fit our coal plants with better filters and create green zones around them to suck up all the pollution that gets out.

Veto the Macedonia situation, they are not getting into the EU.

Implement childlessness/bachlordom taxes and replace all current government based child support schemes with tax cuts for families with multiple children.

Make the state based part of the pension system linked to child academic and economic performance.

Work to push "undesirable elements" to go gasterbaiter to the west.

Put in a small tax on the incomes of all Bulgsrians, specifically the ones abroad.
