There are many possibilities - Iran which remain strong,Ethiopia,Mali,....

I'd like to see Iran conquer Afghanistan and make it Shi'a. Real life's Afghanistan is unfortunately an Islamic fundamentalist train wreck, after all. Much worse than even Iran.

Of note, depending how I handle things in Europe, Poland might have a better time. I'm still debating much there but one possibility is having Congress Poland expanded to include Austrian Galicia, and from there getting increasing autonomy in the Empire as Finland did.

True - but shia are under shahs were no fundamentalists.I would gave them all Kurdish and Armenian territories,too.

No idea, I may not even do it. I'm studying hard on the history of Europe in this era and trying to infer how it would go given the PoD.
