Star Wars What If Vader was more like Anakin Skywalker

I'm not sure if I've already asked this question here before but I'm curious. The difference between Anakin from TCW and Darth Vader are well...night and day. Where Anakin was bold brash sarcastic charming, and willing to put himself in harms way to defend his fellow troops, Vader was cold brooding spiteful, and tended to view those under him as disposable. My question is what if Vader was more like Anakin? I guess to break it down this is the kind of Vader I'm discussing...

-Vader is loyal to the empire (and Palpatine albeit to a lesser extent)
-he hasn't gotten over Padme's death in the Jedi sense but has started to heal somewhat in the way many widows and widowers do.
-is more like how he was during the clone wars (Sarcastic and personable with his own soldiers and willing to jump into the fray of battle and lead without hesitation in order to protect them)
-Doesn't kill his own men for the smallest of slights or failures.
-Doesn't kill people for discovering he is/was Anakin Skywalker.
-Still hates the Jedi but does care for Obi-Wan and Ashoka. (Especially Ahsoka)
-Tries to avoid collateral damage if he can.

Does this change the Dynamic of the imperial military in any way or would very little actual change beyond a couple of minor scenes?

This could lead to him turning on the Empire some time before Episode 4. As time passes and he sees just how draconian the Empire really is he will regret being a part of it. Leading him to eventually switching sides.

Why do you think he'd regret being a part of it? didn't Anakin indicate in episode II that he was pro dictatorship?

Anakin's progression into Vader is typical.

Guy had mommy and daddy issues and was entirely too full of himself, he found himself a father figure and his excessive cockiness and thirst for power/recognition eventuality got him into the Vader suit and made him Force-choke his wife.

He was basically beaten down severely and left angrier at the universe at the end of Episode III.

He was also clearly plotting to eventually depose Sidius so that he could take over, since he saw himself as a Chosen One and still supported a tougher approach towards government.

This wouldn't work well because his hatred is why Vader is stronger than Clone Wars Anakin, at least in Disney canon.

If he keeps his Anakin persona just hating the Jedi wouldn't be enough. We'd have a much weaker Vader who'd likely end up getting killed prior to meeting Luke, probably by Padme's hand maidens or Doctor Aphra.

There is a fanfiction very much like this where Vader's personality is more like Anakin's.

Although its main focus is Vader one Empire Day, the official celebration of its founding, getting so depressed, its also the day he lost Padme, that he actually remembers that he has family on Tatooine.
Like almost everyone in these scenarios he mistakes the sandy-haired little boy as Owen and Beru's son, and becomes Uncle Vader. At a key point he has a "What would Anakin Skywalker do" moment.

ROFL okay the humor is a bit much but this is in the ballpark of Anakin's personality.
