Better.Klingons are militaristic,but non genocidal or even totalitarian.There would be no genocide.
And all people would have status of servants,who - after serving bravely in Klingos military - could become equal.
It is as if entire Earth become Ireland from 1860,with Klingons as better England.

Well all the horrible shit that happened in the Early to Mid 20th Century will never happen. If even one would be dictator so much as sniffs in the direction of creating a fascist state. They will end up on Rura Penthe. And we would get some advanced tech. If you prove yourself honorable and brave Klingons will adopt you into their house as a warrior.

Works better with romulans. They encountered Zefram Cochrane instead of the vulcans and didn't even technically have to conquer earth, just offer a ticket out of the radioactive wasteland and access to their technologies for anyone who wanted to sign up as their mercenaries.

So we get gurkha Kirk, hired gun of the romulan empire which is currently trying to reconquer vulcan with the advantage of large numbers of human cannon fodder, vs Captain Spock, commander of a vulcan warship. Then by TNG, Sela has became space!Odovacar, the hobus supernova destroys romulus and everything goes completely to hell. Now we just need a way to work the dominion invasion and/or the borg into all of this...
