The Courier, who made his way from the scavenge yards of Sunnyvalde, passing through New California via The Hub ended up in Goodsprings. There he evaded a well dressed man in a checkered suit and his two Khan cronies as he proceeded to take the Long 15 through Primm, Novac, the 188 Trading Outpost and up towards the Strip. Along the way he did help the residents of Goodsprings with their Powder Ganger problem, the good folks in Primm with their Bandit problem, witnessed firsthand the razing of Nipton though he was spared by The Legion, sorted out some problems at Helios One, helped out folks in Novac and the Followers in Bright at the Repconn Test Site. Along the way he made acquaintances with Boone, Rose of Sharon Cassidy and a scavenger named Veronica who joined him on his travels briefly.

One thing he did notice was how easy his travels actually were while on the road. While in the various towns it was different but on the road he wasn't harassed by many bandits, raiders, wildlife or even Legion forces and could often steal glances at the mercenaries who seemed to be 'fellow travelers' along the road to Freeside. By the time he made it to Freeside, his suspicions were confirmed as Securitrons escorted him to The Strip and to the Lucky 38 itself. Though he never entered the building, he did turn in the Platinum Chip, revealed Benny's duplicity and was paid a thousand caps for his service and it was doubled as a bonus. House even promised him several times that amount if he'd do another job, but the Courier, already heavy with caps and a bit spooked by the whole affair, decided he'd lay low for a while instead and refused the offer.

The Courier decided he'd just remain a Courier.

Which thus leaves the present situation in the Mojave Wasteland.

The New California Republic and Caesars Legion have basically been unaffected by the Courier's travels beyond the Courier helping provide Helios One power equitably through the Mojave on the advice of the Followers of Apocalypse.

A lot of the minor settlements in the South of the Mojave are better off. Goodsprings is safe from Powder Gangers and Primm has a new Lawman in town. Novac is stable and the Couriers button mashing helped the Followers of Bright probably.

Mr. House meanwhile has the Platinum Chip. He's aware that Benny betrayed him. But most importantly he has no way to access the Weather Station on Fortification Hill and the Securitron Vault there to activate his real Army. His hope of employing such a capable Courier has turned up for naught and time is an issue.

As for the very capable, but unremarkable Courier, he'll be busy pursuing the Companion Quests of Cassidy, Boone, Veronica and whatever other companions (Arcade Gannon and Lily Bowen would be the only one easily accessible) he can find, pursuing good karma, and if he has to choose anti-Legion resolutions to said Companion quests. He might take a caravan up to Zion since he's been to Utah before and can speak some of the local languages there. He certainly won't be meeting any Caesar on Fortification Hill, or traveling any Lonesome Roads, entering any mysterious bunkers following radio messages or fiddling with crashed satellites.

How would the Mojave turn out in this scenario?
