Even if he automatically inherits all Stalin's knowledge I don't see this happening. He might be a glib con man at best but he's not a ruthless killer so he's likely to lose out quickly.

The problem with a small army is how do you keep country of an empire as large as the Soviet one? Especially when so many people have good reason to hate the regime. Unless you change tone so completely, in which case you probably get assassinated by some idealog.

Actually Stalin didn't support the Nazis until the pact for the division of eastern Europe in August 39. Plus, even if you build up a large army how are you going to crush Hitler in 38? Poland and Romania are between you and Czechoslovakia and neither of them are going to give free passage to the Red Army.

That is the problem with point 3. No way is the conservative regime in Romania going to allow large numbers of Red Army forces to march through their country. Like Poland a year later they would fear that once in place they would stay.

Indeed.soviets was fighting hard using siberian dyvisions,so 2 weeks earlier would not help germans.They need to attack 2 month earlier,which was possible - if Hitler do not changed plans and attacked Leningrad,which he do not captured,too.

So,if you want germans win,you must remove Adolf the idiot,not attack 2 weeks earlier.
