Of late I've been spending a lot of evening time in an online game some of the people at work persuaded me to buy, so that I could join their team. It's a survival FP type game called Rust.
The one with idiots running around naked and hitting each other with rocks.
My online character doesn't run around naked - decently dressed, and armed with at least a bow and arrows.
We're getting started on a new server/map, with some interesting mods.
Much more resources per effort in harvesting, and at night - the zombies come out!
So stay indoors while it's dark, or go out if you're well-armed and looking for some NPC enemies.

Educational. Every time I watch someone else playing I learn something.:)
Mostly about how to be a more clever sociopath, or something... :cautious:

That's the core issue with rust, "murderous sociopath" is the default mode of behavior and just kinda sucks the fun out of the game.

I've noticed.
And the buildings all end up looking like the real-world designs we had a thread on here. Mostly because of all the idiots who want to break into your house and murder you in your sleep, and they think it's funny.
Though given that people in Rust just respawn when killed, "obnoxious practical joker" would arguably be closer.
And it doesn't matter how many times Batman throws him off the top of a building.

But that's more the sort of people who are playing it, I think. If they just want to run around shooting at anyone they encounter, why don't they play Unreal Tournament or somesuch?

Because that doesn't tickle their "Destroy any attempts at civilization" desire as much.

I wouldn't know.
But the more advanced "attempts at civilization" in the game can have automated home defenses of a sort one might wish were available in real life.
On most maps there's a "Bandit Camp" or somesuch where one can buy a lot of firepower, and some home security, in exchange for scrap one finds in bins.

I'm playing a Total War Warhammer campaign with Repanse de Lyonesse, the Warhammer Fantasy equivalent of Joan d'Arc as she leads her Crusade across the Arabyan Coast, exterminating the Undead, Savage Orcs and liberating these Desert Lands from the Ancient Civilizations that reside there.

And thanks to mods, I am also battling Arabyans as well... Magic Carpets and everything.

I'll stop Crusading as soon as you stop corrupting your ancestral homelands the Holy Land!

Head over heels in love :)
I've been trying to play Armored Warfare, but my router gave out. My ISP supplied a new one but a different model that is meant to be 'new and improved'. I can't connect to the PVP/PVE element of the game anymore and despite having yet another replacement the game just refuses to connect. I'm stuck in an 18 month contract with half a service and the ISP say there's basically no problem.

I've been playing Lords of Magic; it's an interesting take on the turn-based strategy genre, with heavy emphasis on keeping your units alive long enough to earn the experience necessary to become outright powerhouses. It's also a rather slow game; it takes a long time before you have to start worrying about getting invaded, and with enough bribery it might not ever happen. Honestly, I'm not even sure I'm having fun playing it; I've gotten to the point where I don't know what I'm supposed to do, beyond eventually taking down Balkoth.

Currently I am playing Rule the Waves and occasionally Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Planning on replaying Homeworld 2 at some point.
