Warhammer Fantasy books

I had read some of the Ciaphas Cain books and liked it, but generally I prefer fantasy to sci-fi (or space fantasy in this case). So are there any similar books set in the Warhammer Fantasy?

Not sure; I haven't read any myself. However, I have heard the Gotrek and Felix series consistently being recommended, so those books might be worth investigating.

Warhammer Chronicles series is great. I read the Dwarf Compilation one and it was a good solid read through and through. It had like three novels and several short stories crammed into it. I thinking subtitled The Masters of Stone and Steel."

The story about the Siege of Ekrund (literally the entire book is a single military campaign) was amazing. And there's another good story about the King of Zhufbar that stretches over at least a few (Human) generations that really goes into Dwarven government and psychology and everything that was also great.

The stories also take place in different areas and eras as well. There were blurbs of when the Dwarfs and Elves fought side by side in the first great war against chaos, the aftermath of the War of the Beard, and stories that happen concurrently during Franz's era.

I'm assuming the other Chronicles books are just as good but I've only gotten the Dwarf one and the Sigmar one at the moment and having read the Sigmar worshipping Humans story yet.

Warhammer Fantasy books, like all such "franchise literature", are trash.
The first two or three Felix&Gotrek novels may be amusing, maybe some of the early anthologies.
Due to the changes in lore I'm not interested in anything later than 2000 or 2005.
