War With China (blog article)

That is where the US struggles. Treason is a death sentence, but they usually domt go to death. Manning fir instance got out..and well ended up back in but still. Snowden is wanted
I get from your perspective why what Snowden did was Treason; but from the perspective of an American civilian, for him to have not done what he did would have been just as bad. The IC was illegally spying on American citizens for no legitimate reason; that needed to come out one way or another, whatever the cost. You want to blame someone for the collateral damage, blame the people in charge; if they hadn't let the NSA become so corrupt, and start violating our rights, what Snowden did wouldn't have become necessary.

And the thing is, it turns out was Snowden did wasn't enough; the Intelligence Community is still corrupt to this day. How else do you explain their willingness to support one political party's transparent efforts to depose our legitimately elected president, for years on end? Whatever they do to protect this country from outside threats, they have also become an internal threat to its citizens.

You Americans have it hard when it comes to similar situations for better or worse. Your founding fathers and their ancestors in Britain wouldn't hesitate with a hanging after a conviction.

The British did not hesitate with Nathan Hale.
The US are very kind compared to others

I got a threadban yesterday for this and it's getting into a derail that's it's no longer about a possible war with China. Best make a new thread about ethics in the Intelligence community to continue this line of discussion.

The issue is, anyway to defend my stance is not possible for stuff like that.

Ah, right; my apologies. I'll make a new thread, if that turns out to be necessary, instead of continuing the discussion here.

For several reasons, SK Coast guard must deal with them with kid gloves, a fact that Chinese fishermen regulary exploit, for example they sometimes lash multiple fishing ships together, so their crews can attack the Coast guard boarding parties together.

So far I know two cases where Chinese ships were sunk, one by Russian Border guard and one by Argentinian navy.
I can't blame them when China's nearby.

But when China's rather paralyzed at the moment maybe someone will get an itchy trigger finger and start being more aggressive with the fisherman while waxing Chinese imperialism/colonial rhetoric about their aquatic life being stolen.
