Bug Report Unwatched Threads Generating Alerts

Kind of odd, I'm getting alerts for the following thread:

Thing is, I've never watched the thread and when I checked, it's unwatched so it shouldn't get alerts when I'm not mentioned or replied to.

I believe it is because you replied to the thread, which puts it on a virtual 'watched' status. You can turn it off in the Watch menu if you want.

I had already set my account to not perform such virtual watches long ago, since I didn't want too many alerts. I cannot turn it off in the Watch Menu because it's not watched in the first place. Further, this just started happening today, I wasn't getting alerts yesterday or last week even though I haven't posted in the thread in some time and certainly not in the last day.

It's not an especially annoying bug but I wanted to report it in case it impacts some other aspect of the board.

Is it just that thread or does it happen in other places?

Have you tried clicking the watch thread button and then clicking unwatch? If so, do you continue to get alerts on the thread as if you are watching it?

Only that thread. I've watched and unwatched it, we'll see next time somebody replies.
