Rest In Peace Trevor Noah Departs The Daily Show (with Trevor Noah), Replaced by an Unemployed Old White Jewish Guy

Trevor Noah replaced the legendary comedian Jon Stewart seven years ago. He's overseen the transformation of the Late Night Comedy landscape shift from Comedy and Humor to telling Left Wing Polemics in a Satirical voice in front of sycophantic audiences.

Jon Stewart pulled in over two million viewers regularly when he helmed the show. Trevor Noah successfully trimmed those viewership numbers down to less then 200,000. He did however bring up Black viewership from 75,000 to a shocking... 87,000 so... BLM or whatever.

It's perhaps important to note that the only Cable News comedy show approaching Jon Stewart numbers is on Fox News, hosted by Greg Gutfeld who despite not having any real Stand Up Or Comedian background, is the most successful Late Night comedian of the bunch.

Feel free to post your favorite jokes or funny bits from Trevor Noah's run on the Daily Show. I couldn't think of any myself. But tbf he only had seven years to be funny.

The Daily Show with Don Lemon perhaps? His show is, sorry was, about as humorous as Trevor Noah's

Plus he's Black AND Gay. You might drop ratings another 90% but you'll capture the Black Gay Males between 18-49 market that still watch Comedy Central.

So is he going to go back to south Africa now

He supposedly wants to do more touring/comedy and stuff like acting and podcasting etc. Hosting the show takes up a lot of his time he wants to do other things.

This scumbag broke up with Minka Kelly (the lady from NBC's 'Friday Night Lights')

Big wow! Comedy Central is lining up a bunch of... "A-Grade" talent reportedly to guest host the show week by week since a replacement for Trevor Noah hasn't been found yet.

New York Post said:
Noah’s last day will be Thursday and the show is slated to come back to its 11 p.m. timeslot on Comedy Central on January 17, 2023.

Beginning on that date, Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, D. L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes and Marlon Wayans will host the show a week at a time.

It certainly is a list...

How embarrassing must it be to lose to freaking Greg Gutfeld, a man who I would barely consider "funny" blowing the leftist late night hosts out of the water?

um its actually not surprising.

Its about market share, because the left dominates entertainment (often blacklisting conservatives when ever possible) that means they end up splitting their audience among a lot of different shows. Meanwhile because conservitives are blantantly shut out of the national conversatio when ever possible any voice they do get ends up getting more concentrated attention.

and this is at least 40% of the country as an untapped market.

It's funny how not funny this guy is.

I got dragged to one of his stand up comedy shows. Even when he isn't doing a political show, he's still not funny.

He's just not a funny person. I don't know how he got famous.

I saw some of his old stuff, from like ten years ago. It was decently funny; I wouldn't say exceptionally so, but it was at least funny.

It also wasn't political.

Apparently Jon Stewart returned to hosting the Daily Show. I didn't hear about it until almost a week later.

He made an announcement on Colberts Show.

And the first episode of his return?

Apparently he's only hosting on Monday or whatever.

We'll see if he'll be able to talk about China and AI I guess.

I heard about it because he made a comment about Biden being old, and the left lost their shit about how he's a threat to democracy

Yeah I watched the episode. He spent twenty minutes ranting and musing on how the Election is a competition between two geriatric antiques. I did laugh a few times. It's way more amusing than the clips I saw of his show on Apple TV. He's a comedian and the Daily Show hosting format plays to that strength.

People seemed caught up on him being a political commentator more then a political comedian and I think maybe that's why his Apple TV show was balls (and why Late Night Comedy is so stale).

Certainly more amusement in this one meh episode of Jon Stewart then seven years of Trevor Noah.

Yeah I always thought he was Hilarious on the OG daily show. Hopefully they let him be funny in this iteration.

I don't need to agree with him on everything. He's just gotta be funny. Calling out both sides is a good start.

I've now seen two episodes? I'm assuming its the full episode, of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

This is more episodes of the Daily Show (and all of its spinoffs hosted by John Oliver, Larry Wilmore, Samantha Bee, and Trevor Noah and Jon Stewart's own miserable show on Apple TV etc) I've seen ever, consecutively or individually, since Jon Stewart left the Daily Show.

Another fun fact, this was also true before I saw this second episode of the Daily Show.

Unlike his first episode, which caused much ree'ing for "Both Sides" which he deals with in the beginning of this video, this episode does focus a bit on 'the Right' and specifically Tucker Carlson's adventures in Russia. I did lol... I might've laughed more then I did his first episode and even his 'guest reporter' segment was rather amusing with the unapologetic North Koreanstan.

One of the schticks that Jon Stewart uses when moralizing is a form of the so-called motte and bailey fallacy, and that was somewhat one of the weaker portions of the episode. In this case the fallacy was Jon Stewart setting up Tucker Carlson's endorsement of Putin Russia and then shifting it to how Putin killed Navalny (allegedly) and that Tucker implicitly endorses that though Jon Stewart has enough integrity to post that Tucker Carlson denounced it.

Jon Stewart also skimmed over the Putin interview itself, spending more time focused on Tucker Carlson stating why he was doing the interview and skewering it, and then skewering him more on his praise of shopping at a Russian grocery store and pointing out many of the obvious misconceptions his shopping experience had.

Overall, it was an amusing episode. Both of these episodes are pretty strong hints as to what made the original Daily Show popular I feel. Jon Stewart is a liberal... he's very left. He always has been in his comedy, but he has criticized both sides before because he has some shred of ideological integrity and principles.

I'll probably keep posting these videos as they come out week to week if I remember or if they become lame.
