TOS Enterprise crew vs. WWZ Earth zombie hordes.

A bored ROB decided to grab the entire crew of the TOS Enterprise and send them all to WWZ Earth at around the time the outbreak started in the USA.

They will get dropped off in a single location somewhere close to Riverside, Iowa.
They each get the equivalent of 5 years average US wage in the form of silver and gold coins as well as any and all equipment they usually carry with them when discharging their duties on away missions and the like.

So, can Kirk and co deal with the zombies?

Crew could engage wide-beam on lethal settings and just vaporize as many zombies as they want?

If they have to take out the whole planet's worth of zombies though, I think the batteries/powerpacks will run out long before the zombies are all gone.
