Theoretically if Plant People, Plant Animals or Plant Aliens exist and you kill and eat them, are you a carnivore?

If you kill and eat them, does it make you a carnivore?

And if you kill and eat the plant person, does it make you a cannibal?

If they all taste like meat and you choose to hunt and eat them, does that mean you are faithful to a vegan diet?

But does it make you a cannibal though?
Not unless you're a plant person yourself. We call sharks and tigers that eat humans "Man eaters," not cannibals. We call sharks and tigers that eat their own kind cannibal.

Edit: Poison Ivy would probably be an exception due to being a mutated human who's only part plant. That's assuming somebody could survive eating Poison Ivy. And this conversation has gotten weird fast.

In order to digest the creature, does your body need to spend more metabolic energy on either breaking down starches and cellulose or resisting parasites and infection? If it is the former you have a herbivore's digestive tract, if the latter you have a carnivore's digestive tract.
