Hack a drone, no. Spoof GPS so that it "thinks" it's too high and slams into the ground trying to adjust altitude, much easier...

There are whole jammers that do that. Spoofing a GPS is a very simple thing.

They don't exactly need a light tank, but an amphibious tank that can navigate mud and other difficult terrain that the Abrams can't would be be a good match for the service. Probably wheeled rather than tracked.

So some sort of armoured car is what you'd suggest? Or a wheeled tank? Or an upgraded IFV?
