Just saw this, thought I'd share:

This project has Western writers and producers, and the press release says that they're basing it off of the Jackson movies, so it is unlikely it that the story will be any good. So the only thing you're getting is Jackson LotR with 2020 anime aesthetics. Likelihood of crappy 3D CGI and milky filters plastered over the show is very high. If this was a series of OVA made in the 80s or 90s, it could've been bloody amazing.

I actually liked the Jackson movies, so I don't have a problem with that. The inevitable crappy CG would be a bit of a downer, though. My biggest worry is that it will be more related to the new Amazon series than the Jackson movies.
