Developed in coordination with Lockheed Martin, the F-X is planning on having its first flight in 2024. It is planned for this new fighter jet to also have technology not even available on the latest American fighter jets.
Some of the features include a VR style helmet display and a microwave radar weapon that can potentially fry incoming missiles.
It will also have something called Ground Attack capability which is a new thing for Japan's military as previously they had to turn the plane upside down and drop hand grenades out of the canopy.
Other rumored features include rotary missile batteries, variable geometry and magical girl piloting assistance.
