The Ending of Current Cop Shows

Should the current Cop Shows be scrapped?

I'm anti-censorship, don't watch cop shows, well last one I watched was Brooklyn 99 and I'll just say this. If those guys at Hollywood and other WOKE Entertainment Corporations want to pander to those who don't even buy their products, then let them do so, let them suffer from their own consequences.

Sure the left maintains overwhelming cultural power. Almost entirely through consenting to cancel things they demand be cancelled. In order to change that the right must oppose cancellations. Seems pretty rational to me.
Sometimes you have to use your opponents tactics against them. Yes it is dirty yes it might compromise some principles. But as I always say. Principles do you no good when you lose the war because of your principles.

You're still following your principles and sort of using their own tactics against them by mocking them for it while going on about their right to exist

It may not be much, but there's a sort of loss of face on the other side as they feel embarrassed

I mean none of them are good cop shows and all of the main casts on them should be before IA and thrown in prison because they violate every law under the sun. But canceling them in response to the protests is pointless.
They may not be good but are popular
Just because the people who want them canceled don't have pure motives does not mean it is not something you don't do. Back in the day lefty activists lobbied against the use of Asbestos in construction and shipbuilding. Right leaning conservatives balked at their claims. Only to be basically shamed by the data 2 decades later about how harmful Asbestos really was. You don't balk at something just because your opponents want it done. You list your own rational reasons for your case to end it.

The live shows would not be heavily edited either. Because it does paint a false picture of a situation.
Live PD isnt as bad as other shows, they do edit it, but it isnt as bad as COPS was.

I don't watch a lot of "cop" shows, if any at all. Closest thing for a while was reruns of the earlier seasons of "X-Files", if they could fall in that category since it involves Feds, and reruns of the early seasons of "Criminal Minds", again with Feds. Other than that....meh.

Cop shows are such a tired, to me often depressing and equally depressingly formulaic genre it doesn't hold my interest. A lot of the current shows needed to be retired a long damn time ago, IMO. I don't pay attention to the leftist ideology pushed by shows like Law and Order because it's utter BS and just getting made to make leftist minded viewers feel good about themselves, and give rightist minded viewers something to bitch and complain about, it's nothing new.

Though I confess for the record, I UTTERLY DESPISE the characters of Gibbs and DiNozzio from NCIS. Gibbs is an utter prick and someone needs to scald his fucking face with his own coffee before smashing said face into a desk....repeatedly. DiNozzio is an arrogant POS who has no business having a badge, and needs to have his dick sliced off and put on display in a pickle jar so he can piss through a tube for the rest of his days.

If the entertainment industry and it's well known left leaning nature is to blame for what you think is the poor quality of cop shows. How would cancelling current shows and making new shows help?

Hey tell my how you really feel about Gibbs and DiNozzio :p

For one you don't have to use any of those writers and can choose writers who don't put their agenda in their writing. There are some new shows out there that ignored the leftist troupe and people love them for it. Example the Mandelorian. That show has the main protagonist as a badass guy who does not lose to 90lbs weakling woman. And he is not over the top like an 80s action hero. That is what I like in a show right there.

I mostly don't watch cop shows anymore. The last one I liked was the first CSI, and that's mostly because I like looking at Marg Helgenburger. I liked Criminal Minds when it started, but I got tired of Penelope's magic computer. There's alwasy a scene that sounds like
"Penelope I need the address of every green house in Atlanta owned by a left-handed accountant."
tap tap tap
"I'm sending you six."
Does anybody every ask "what server will contain that data base."
Too many other shows rely on such gimicks.

I mean...some of the stuff she does, but her searches like that are pretty normal

The CSI orginal one before season 9 was prety realistic when it came to crime scenes.
CSI shows were never realistic and worse they instilled unreasonable expectations about forensic evidence from juries during trials.
But then there is a reason why I prefer British shows like Inspector Morse and Touch of Frost, where they cover up unrealism with good storytelling and interesting characters.

Having taken a forensics class, and watching a lot of Forensic files in said class, a lot of what the original CSI had at first was pretty grounded. Of course some of the stuff was absurd but a lot was what I had been learning in Forensics.

Also They have officially cancelled COPS

How much money are Hollywood and other Entertainment Companies losing? You can’t just shut off production en masse and there are guys probably working on that stuff now out of a job and a sudden amount of material for said production not being bought

COPS isnt that high budget of a show/

It's not just the cop shows that are on the chopping block, all shows that ever had a wrongthink in them are under threat.
Little Britain pulled from iPlayer and Netflix because 'times have changed'
Little Britain has been removed from BBC iPlayer, Netflix and BritBox as objections resurfaced to some of the sketch show's characters.

Netflix pulled the Matt Lucas and David Walliams series on Friday, along with their other comedy Come Fly With Me.

The BBC and Britbox took Little Britain off on Monday. Both outlets said "times have changed" since it first aired.
Both shows include scenes where the comedians portray characters from different ethnic backgrounds.

I was referring to cop shows in general, both in expense and whatever profit they made

That said, wow, I'm guessing they'll be pulling out some video games if they have positively portrayed law enforcement

I'm guessing all those JUDGE DREDD comics are gone.....Garth Ennis' never gonna admit who's really at fault

I am a bit surprised but not really snice Paramount network has been "rebranding" itself since they changed from Spike TV.
Only a little. They kept most of the same shows. Bar rescue is still popular as hell, as was COPS.
