It's rather negative, really. The live-action, 'follow cops on the beat' shows were a positive force and remained as such--having cameras on-scene recording officer interactions with the public is just like body-cams in its capacity for goodness and capturing poor behavior (or exculpatory behavior) of officers.
I think the last drama cop-show I ever watched (off-and-on, and petering off after a while) was Castle.
And then mainly because Nathan Fillion is rather attractive and the writers had some clever lines/gags (and it was rarely of any seriousness).
