Thanos with the Infinity Stones vs. Doctor Manhattan. Who wins?

Thanos with the Infinity Gems I think would have more raw power then Dr. Manhattan. And while Dr. Manhattan is far smarter, Thanos is more wise. The reason that Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias was able to outwit (well almost in some respects) was because he had a high intellect (not as high as Manhattan's) but was also far, far, far more canny and devious and had a very high wisdom stat which allowed him to manipulate Dr. Manhattan.

Thanos as depicted in the MCU might be slightly below Ozymandias in the whole 'wisdom/deviousness' category but I feel actually is far less smug and arrogant which should offset it. Plus he's infinitely (hurr durr) more powerful due to having the Gems. Unless Dr. Manhattan overwhelms him right off the bat, taking him offguard like Thor did at the apex of Avengers: Infinity War, I think Thanos takes this matchup.

I have no idea what Thanos's feats are, other than having thet stupid gauntlet, but Dr. Manhattan was designed to be OP, the only reason he "lost" was because his prescience was blocked by plot device.
Can Thanos block it?

I don't think so.

Dr. Manhattan wins.

Are we using the Comic version of Thanos and the Infinity Stones or the MCU Version?

Comic book version is no contest...Dr. Manhattan fails to trigger and goes away with a whimper.

MCU version...if Thanos knows he's a threat then Dr. Manhattan loses. If Dr. Manhattan can suprise Thanos, he has a chance.

It wasn't just any "plot devices" (which in itself is a meaningless term) but Adrian Veidt actually investing considerable time, intellect and resources into constructing multiple tachyon generators around his Antarctic Base that coordinated with satellites above to shroud Manhattan's ability to view time non-linearly.

An impressive technical feat for Veidt but I would imagine something readily available to one who possesses the reality gem.

Plus you have the time gem and mind gem. The former alone would make things tricky for an adversary though it'd be interesting to see if Manhattan could actually do something since he views time non-linearly. How that could interact with time travel... Who knows.

Dr. Manhattan has also proven susceptible to mental and emotional manipulation and with the Mind Gem Thanos could potentially figure out Manhattans emotional vulnerabilities and exploit them just as Veidt was able to do.

I stopped caring about capeshit after Iron Man 2 and I have only seen the Watchmen movie.

Only superhero movie I have seen since then was Joker.

"And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Which Dr. Manhattan feats is this using? Original graphic novel only, movie only feats, or his feats from his inclusion in the DC Universe with that DC Rebirth relaunch in 2016, or movie only feats? Because they raised Dr. Manhattan's bullshit from 2016 onwards, for example traveling through time and rewriting events (I think they even minimized the effects of the tachyon particles on Manhattan to obscuring just the immediate past and future, instead of obstructing the entirety of his non-linear vision of time), manipulating and nullifying Green Lantern energy, immediately learning and using DC magic within seconds of observing Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Constantine, Etrigan, and others from DC's magic-using notables' attacks on him, actual reality warping and creating the New 52 universe. I think post-2016 DC Dr. Manhattan would be able to match comic version Infinity Gauntlet Thanos.

The expanded DC one is pretty balls and honestly it'd be an obvious stomp for him over MCU Thanos. Plus a lot of the actual point of the character in the original Watchmen comics is overlooked or ignored in the subsequent fluff IMHO.

I know the OP didn't specify but I was assuming MCU Thanos and classic Watchmen (and movie) Manhattan.

I'd say Dr. Manhattan just talks with him, and gives him some perspective by using his powers to show him to cosmos from a different point of you. As long as he doesn't "Total Perspective Vortex" him, I think Manhattan wins a bloodless victory by simply showing MCU Thanos why he is wrong.
