Tesla and PG&E have started construction on what will be the largest energy storage system in the world in Monterey, California using Tesla's lithium-ion megapacks for the battery storage park. The facility is expected to come online sometime next year in 2021 and will be the largest installation of its kind, ten times the size of Australia's Hornsdale Power Station which was another Tesla associated project initiated just back in 2017.
