Star trek was made in 2020

Its probably likely to be more aligned with the 2010's culture than the 1970's one. I.e. a lot more conservative in viewpoint and less positive on the future. The Federation may be significantly more militant and having a military role being the clear dominant one with research, exploration and contacting new cultures being seen as far less important.

TOS not existing in the first place would cause huge changes to OTL. The show was influential in inspiring a plethora of real world inventions, not to mention influencing culture.

IIRC, the automated doors in TOS inspired real life automated sliding doors. And communicators inspired flip phones. And the compact layout of the Enterprise bridge was responsible for the US redesigning their ship bridges. And so forth. I'd imagine that some of these ideas may have come up in the new timeline, but perhaps not in the same way.

As for cultural changes, TOS was an optimistic show during the cold war and civil rights movement. Perhaps its absence may have led led to increased tensions. Furthermore, the geekdom and fan convention movements we see today may or may not exist.

The success of Star Trek as a genre sci fi show also encouraged Hollywood to produce more genre films and TV shows, like Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, which in turn led to the explosion of genre as a whole.

As for the show's impact of it was created in the early 2000's, the would depend on the state of genre TV and sci fi up until that point. If no other genre show came along and attained similar pop status like Star Trek did, and genre didn't explode, then this hypothetical 2000's Star Trek may or may not be it. CGI spectacle could be the big draw of the show for mainstream audiences, but I'd imagine that if now genre show had managed to explode into the mainstream using models, then the culture has probably rejected genre as a whole and CGI isn't going to change that. So a 2000's Star Trek might be forgotten.

If the 2000's Star Trek was very optimistic and hopeful like OTL TOS, I'd imagine it might receive backlash in the immediate post-9/11 climate for not being pro war and ultra violent. However, it might be vindicated in the long run for its message of staying calm and not being retaliatory and it's hopeful tone. On the other hand, if the show is just nihilistic drek like the BSG reboot, then it probably won't leave much of a footprint, and will be forgotten eventually. I doubt the franchise would still be around by 2020.

In this scenario either Tom corbit or space patrol is remade in the 1960s ten years after the original.
I am thinking it could have a female in 2and in command no one would notice.

Nah it'll debut on a streaming platform using cheap Eastern European sets and star Kevin Sorbo as Captain Kirk. (y)
Now that happening I would really like to see!^_^

... Kevin Sorbo...^_^

Yummy!^_^
plus the guy actually has action chops.
Been done. The first two seasons were good, then it went downhill.

As for the question of this thread as a whole, /tg/ had some ideas...
