This just got announced at Summer Game Fest and I am STOKED.
It's an official - read that, official - Star Trek strategy game from Paradox Interactive, developer of PC strategy games like "Stellaris", "Victoria", and "Crusader Kings". Also involved is a developer called Nimble Giant Entertainment, which I'm not so familiar with.
I really enjoyed Stellaris, so I'm confident this is in good hands. Anyone who's played Stellaris will recognize that galactic map view as it zooms out at the end. Even if it's basically a fancy Stellaris DLC/mod with a full game budget behind it, I don't care. I want this. It's been soooo long since we've gotten a real official Star Trek game that wasn't mobile tosh or just STO. Fingers crossed that it turns out great!
