I know Humankind, Mortal Shell, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and New World are all releasing on Steam this month, but none of them really excite me, so instead I'm making a post about next months video game releases.
September 1 - The first thing I'm excited for is the indie game Lake, simply because it looks fairly unique - an almost Hallmark-esque indie game about a woman returning to her hometown to take over her Dad's job as the local mail carrier for two weeks.
September 2 - Pretty big day. WRC 10 releases, Total War: Troy comes to Steam, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous releases (that's the one I'm most excited about), albeit admittedly I never got into Pathfinder: Kingmaker despite owning it, so I'll have to finish it first...
September 7 - Forged in Shadow Torch - Metroidvania with furries, but the main furry is a rabbit with a deep Japanese man's voice.
September 9 - Tales of Arise - Theoretically a game I'd be into, but I already have two other Tales Of games I haven't played, and I'm already playing quite a few anime-style games. Also, of the Tales of Berseria that I did play, I wasn't exactly a fan of the writing/pacing.
September 10 - Lost in Random (and Life is Strange: True Colors and NBA 2K22, but who cares about those?) looks like a pretty cool game by Electronic Arts. Shocker, I know, but they seem to be investing in more variety currently, and Lost in Random's Tim Burton-esque art style looks cool.
September 14 - Deathloop - First ever AAA roguelike. Not sure how I'll feel about it... I wasn't a huge fan of Dishonored 2 or Prey to be honest. But Deathloop looks like it might have an interesting story.
September 16 - Gamedec (and WRC 9 - and for those of you who noticed that WRC 10 is coming out 2 weeks before WRC 9, yes, you read that right) is a narrative heavy game about you being a detective in virtual worlds.
September 17 - Aragami 2 - Stealth action ninja game, sequel to Aragami.
September 28 - Lemnis Gate and Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot - The First Cases.
Lemnis Gate is that weird turn-based shooter with time travel mechanics (yes, you read that right).
Honestly expecting the Hercule Poirot game to read like bad fanfiction, since its not based on an actual Agatha Christie book if I understand correctly.
September 30 - Hot Wheel Unleashed and Melty Blood Type Lumina.
The most exciting day of the month. Who doesn't want to relive their childhood playing with Hotwheels? Also, the custom track maker looks AMAZING.
Melty Blood is a 2D fighting game based off of Type/Moon's Tsukihime, and I really hope the Tsukihime remaster releases same day as Type Lumina eventually gets an english localization and Steam release like Type Lumina is getting.
