Crossover Salamaders take a visit to Pandora (Avatar)

The Salamanders space Marine chapter are given the task by the Imperium to capture and pacify the planet earth once knew as Pandora, as it had somehow withstood this long without being taken over.

The entire chapter is given this task, but the use of exterminatus is outlawed as the Salamanders are to bring forth the colonization.

That is a tricky subject because turning the Earth into a nuclear wasteland would still easily fit the Imperium of Mans definition of "habitable world ripe for colonization". That said since its the Salamanders they would be highly unlikely to resort to Exterminatus anyways. They are basically the nicest chapter of space marines that could be given this task. Now any sort of resistance we could put up would meet a horrifying end because if we assume the Imperium of Man won't just either sterilize or send us all to death camps then they could still just scatter us across a thousand worlds effectively erasing us that way without even needing to kill us.

Even though the Salamanders are one of the "nicest" chapters of Space Marines out there, they're still Space Marines and part of the Imperium.

Yeah, I'll just leave the implications unsaid.

I chose then for a particular reason.

Any attempts at concentrating enough forces to actually fight them gets wiped out from orbit. We also lose all of our satellites which would render most of our high end arsenal useless. Realistically we lose the bulk of our armies and a number of major cities before surrendering.
