RPC Authority

So I don’t know how many people are interested in scp like websites but rpc authority is a really good one that tries to recapture the spirit of older scp while also having a more consistent lore magic system and canon. It’s criminal that it’s so underrated but I hope some of you find some enjoyment from it and the discussions it could generate.

also here’s a couple of my favorite articles

Interesting. Going to have to surf this site more. Does feel like more classic SCP Foundation before it got carried away with its protocol language and structure and the like at first glance.

Yeah the founders of the site split away when scp starting getting more and more politicaly slanted and the mod team kinda started to go downhill plus a whole bunch wanted a return to and older style. I’m not an expert in the drama behind it all but that’s what I understood from what I could find I could be off base

Yeah SCP Foundation still churns out good content I'm sure but they wear their boss on their forehead with things like Secure, Contain, Pride for Pride Month and having Bob Dole of all people responsible for ruining the SCP Foundation in another verse and Paul Manafort overlooking the public sexual assault of employees to shame them in SCP-1370 which happens to be one of their most popular lore stories.

That's independent of the general smugness I sense them having. :p

Nice to see some of the founders made an alternative. Had no idea.

Ah founders of rpc I don’t know if any of them where founders of scp as well my bad
Anyway
I enjoy rpc lore more because if you read some of the background rpc has to constantly fight for budget and deal on an equal bases with the countries of the world which is way more realistic then the way scp sets it up.

I'm mostly just disappointed by the replacement of the old RPC-997 (an abandoned mine and the freakish remains of the miners) with the new RPC-997 (explosive flies that killed JFK). I liked the old one, it had a nice series one SCP Foundation feel to it.

Whoa thanks for the recommendation. That archived entry was a great read!

Also checked out the site itself again and read the currently recommended article about the based lizard.

Very nice.

I like how sometimes they use or talk about using anomalies in smart ways and it doesn’t always backfire or have some huge evil cost. scp articles have that happen more and more often.

also don’t know if you stumbled on it yet but this is fun

“By 1969, the old dreams of Humanity had died. Robbed of any golden years in its quiet half of the galaxy, Humanity faced continual attacks from alien threats that irreversibly scarred our perception of the world around us. Driven out of both fear and spite, we drew upon our knowledge of the anomalous to retaliate with a gamble more catastrophic than anything prior. It cost us everything.

A precarious species looking for a new home, by 1990, a new, bi-partisan organization would be "founded" to the public. Sworn to preserve humanity, this group propelled itself to be a bastion of human integrity, ingenuity, and its ceaseless spirit: The Galactic Ranger's Protection Corp.

This is a story of hope, of average people traversing fantastical worlds, caught in the machination of the universe. This is a story of peril, of overcoming impossible odds to reach unattainable goals. Most importantly, this is a story about humanity.”
it’s a au of the authority that’s has some great writing

also like they had guide lines written out for the magic system of the world it’s still super broad and can do a lot but it’s still neat

I think, that that was not freakish remains of our miners, but rather some underground cyvilization which try to take over us.
