DC is one of the most crime ridden areas of USA, Secret Service having to shoo away some criminals every now and then is just part and parcel of living in the capital and since none of the people who matter were particularly inconvenienced, nothing will change.
Apparently not an attempt at a hoax but a young Black woman poured gasoline over the childhood home of Martin Luther King Jr with the apparent intention of burning it down.

It's all so tiresome. While I'm hardly one to advocate for the government to have broader power to put people to death, there was a reason for the harsh justice of yore. Past a certain point, why are we wasting everyone's time and money on career criminals like this?

What a humbling story, and such a heartwarming ending...
Two police officers and a paramedic shot and killed during a domestic call that turned into a hostage situation/standoff situation with seven children held by the perpetrator. The perpetrator apparently died from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
