Technology Product Snobbery (Gun, Knife, Computer, Car etc)

I am posting this thread because of some reviews of products I have seen on the internet and conversation I have had with people in RL. You know the person. The guy or gal that looks down on a product another person has bought because they consider it beneath them. Said person may not have even used said product but they are a snob to it never the less. I find this behavior distasteful. If you don't have anything constructive to say about a Gun, Knife, Car or Computer it is best to not try to put down another person's choice. But that is just me. What are your thoughts on Product Snobbery and how do you deal with such snobs?

There are a few products I will actively put down because I don't like their function.

From experience, I've discovered that any wooden watch is a PoS. Wood is not waterproof to the degree needed to keep a modern watch mechanism safe, even if the owner is very careful the structure of wood, and the fact that you have no more than a millimeter or two of it on a watch casing, will wick even a light sweat into the movement. So I always recommend against those. I find them especially ironic since they're normally marketed as green or ecological watches when a good stainless steel case will keep the same watch movement running for decades instead of months.

Also steel and other traditional metals used in making watches are very recyclable, you put it in the smelter (if nothing else).

I've said this before elsewhere on this forum, but I have a great disdain for "reusable" shopping bags as are often implemented here in California. They are generally smaller than the dispoable ones they are replacing and are rarely reused. They end up wasting loads more plastic than the "disposable" bags they banned.

I think there is a slight miscommunication. The thread is not about things you put down. But it is about things that get put down unfairly.
