Very enigmatic title, I know... but it's something incredibly cool if you love steam. There's a group working on building a new Pennsylvania Railroad T1 steam locomotive, a 4-4-4-4 passenger hauler that reputedly can break 140 MPH with a full rake of cars. It also looks like something out of a Steampunk novel.

I adore this project and wish I could give them all of the money at once; or some of my engineering expertise. I can think of nothing so lovely as being whisked back to the Broadway Limited of that civilised and racinated era!

That era was always an interesting one but sadly couldn't compete once diesel's kinks were ironed out. Given Pacific had refurbished Big Boy... it is an interesting time to be alive as a railfan.

... although Germany has beaten practically everyone when it comes to rail preservation...
