Yes.He and his famous Black Army.As long as it existed,Hungary was safe.
But hungarian aristocrats must dissolve it after his death.Which lead to disaster in 1526.

He even captured Vienna in 1485 and hold it till he died in 1490.Pity,that he do not have legitimate son.

It was already going downhill before that, they had a short period of resurgence, but ultimately there was too much internal stagnation and dogmatism.

Like the Jannisaries:
a) Rebelling because of new canons because they did not fit religious dogma.
b) Getting to marry and thus turning the whole institution into a quasi-hereditary patronage organzization.
c) Becoming overall inefficient vs. western armies.

And the succession of the sultan turning from an extremely meritocratic institution where the strongest son survived into one where weaklings and retards still clutching to their mothers' skirts were elevated Sultan.

It started before that.Wacław Potocki in his "Wojna Chocimska"/War of Chocim/ written about polish-ottoman 1620 war,wrote that there were only 12.000 janissaries,when should be 20.000,becouse money for them were taken by some corrupted officials.
And,theit custom of not using armours - when he wrote about them fighting winged hussarls,he show it as one-sided massacre,mainly becouse turks do not have armours.

Stefan Dusan was actually half Bulgarian and lived in Bulgaria for a large part of his early life.

And his "empire" fell apart in short order.

If we had kicked his ass and taken Serbia it would have been better for all of Europe.
Except didn't you guys split into three? Vidin, Tarnovo and Dobruzha decided to play Warring Kingdoms Period while the Ottomans are expanding.

@Agent23 did allude to this
Yup, mentioned in the video, too.
One thing that didn't get enough attention is that feudalism also weakened the Bulgarian state.
But hey, according to some on here having lots of stupid magnates bolyars thumbing their nose at the Tzar and pulling the ship of state in a bunch of different directions while molesting the peasantry to the point it doesn't give a damn the country is invaded is a good thing. :D
