A Thread for series that you still remember but don't think other people know or still remember ever having been a thing

I would be surprised to meet any people outside of maybe Reddit who actually remember these cartoons

I have a friend who loves Cow and Chicken, he still makes references to it, every now and then. I Am Weasel was OK. Billy and Mandy was before my time(and doesn't that makes me feel old), at least in Brazil.

Recently something appeared on my YouTube recommendations, something from my childhood, that made me feel old:

I remember first reading Beelzebub after a binge when it got to around 90 Chapters years ago

Stopped after awhile and read it years later when surprisingly it was all over

It's strange to see a weekly shounen manga actually end

Hell, it's times like these I remember HERO TV and how I first even knew about a bunch of series

I also remember their other show, 3-2-1 Penguins. It was okay.

I rewatched the David and Bathesheba episode and the 3-2-1 "don't tell a lie" epiosdes. Veggietales has aged better than I thought. TBH it's more enjoyable than most Western television from within the last 20 years. Certainly better than anything that aired within the last 10. Maybe I'll rewatch the whole series. As for 3-2-1, eh... not sure. I don't remember laughing as much as I did, though. Maybe the jokes just flew over my head when I was a kid.

Long before I had the internet.....yeah I don't think I'm as fond of waiting up specifically just to watch the newest episode of either of this stuff was really worth the time now

You know, weird thing, never knew about the sub when this was a thing either. Going by the amount of hentai I see, it's NOT forgotten.

The fact I actually remember having watched these shows makes me feel old

The only Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show I remember ever having watched, didn't know there was an old

Back when I didn't have the internet.....I watched so much TV and did whatever I could to NOT miss out on any of this stuff

'Nother oldie but goodie. This one really seems old, not only because of the animation but the themes and ideas. Nobody would take space opera so seriously anymore, and you'd be hard pressed to have a kid's TV show that opens with 99% of the human race dying horribly and playing it completely straight.

Loved that one back in the day.

So how many remember this one? A comedy set in a MASH unit in wartime (only Hogan's Heroes would have a more bizarre setting for a comedy)... that was so good it was produced for several years longer than the war it was set in. Yes, for those of you seeing this for the first time, those are wounded soldiers being pulled off evac units in the intro and hauled into surgery to try to save their lives, and yes this is a comedy show. It was brilliant, one of the most expert mixes of tragedy and comedy every made.

Anybody remember "Who Shot J.R.?" Three hundred fifty million people tuned in to see that episode. The entire United States population was only 226 million at the time. I think it was more people than there were TVs in the world at the time. Literally everybody tuned in to find out. The Republicans ran a political campaign with buttons that said "A Democrat Shot J.R." Jimmy Carter said if he knew who shot J.R. he could easily be re-elected using that information. One guy was offered 100,000 pounds sterling if he'd spoil who shot J.R. Queen-Mother Elizabeth tried to use her authority to (unsuccessfully) find out, as did President Ford with a similar lack of success. It captivated the nation and beyond.
