Hello everyone, first off as you may have noticed lately we have had a few changes on the staff roster for a plethora of reasons, the chief one being Curtis LeMay has departed for personal reasons, he may comeback eventually, but it will probably be a while. In light of this departure and a more personal uptick in the active real lives of the staff the decision was made to bring on new members to fill some of these holes and keep things better running, especially with the soon to be increasing traffic between now and early November.

Obviously, we don't want to bring on strangers to lord over you as mods so the selection process we used boiled down to throwing the names of those we initially thought would make okay moderators into a hat and then narrowing down the pool based on temperament, time spent on site, infraction report history, and the ability to conduct themselves in a fair manner before making an outreach to gauge their interest.

Today I am proud to announce that both of our two chosen finalist candidates to replace both Curtis and me!

Give it up to @Navarro an @Lord Sovereign as out new moderators guys!

As you will know both these fine gentlemen (One an English gentlemen at that!🧐) have been with us from the beginning Lord Sovereign has always given fine inputs to most any conversation and creative writing wouldn't be the same without my fellow Fallout Sempai!

I hope they both remain with us for many years!

Now moving onto the next subject as you may have noticed above, I stated that these two have replaced Curtis but also more notably for this topic of discussion 'me'. Now worry not, I am not going anywhere for the time being, I am merely being promoted to a Super Mod as I alluded to in this previous joke thread I made Saturday.

Now I can hear you asking questions...

"Why do we need another Super Moderator don't we already have three?"

"What is the difference between a regular Moderator and a Super Moderator?"

"What does this mean in both the short and long term?"

The first question is the easiest to answer, in reality before my selection, the Sietch didn't truly have three Supermods as while @bullethead and @Emperor Tippy are great @Darth Robbni who a is holdover from Zoe's era hasn't been seen in four years and even before that has never contacted staff since the sites transfer to @LordSunhawk making him completely MIA.

Besides that, like I stated earlier a lot of the upper staff is experiencing upticks in their personal lives, they have responsibilities and need more help to take up slack.

The Second and Third question in one, concerning the difference between a Supermod and Mod is that the former are authorized to be able to hand out larger infractions even up to perms, while Mods cap out at 3 days for any sort of ban, so a lack of having a Supermod or Admin can hinder staff under certain extenuating circumstances, another thing they can do is cross check IP's for sockpuppets and most importantly handle appeals.

I cannot stress enough, how important that last bit is.

I think we can all agree that appeals have been a mess for a while, wait times are ridiculously long due to upper staff being so busy, we have staff who forget to answer appeals even after discussing them, we have staff who answer them but then refuse to lock the thread afterward and add a 'Closed' or 'Resolved' prefix so that both users and staff can then separate what appeals are finished and which are not, etc., etc.

Staff wanted to change that and as you could see this past Sunday after three hours of going through it all I finally got almost all of those old appeals threads locked, prefixed, and answered were prudent even despite their age.

So, the long term as well as short term goals is to fix appeals, I am currently writing a guild for people new to appeals as to how to properly conduct themselves and make an appeal for those new to the site among other minor thing as to how they work.

Now the final thing I want to bring to your attention is the moving of the Leslie Fish subforum out on our main page from the top resting place which was a conscious choice on part of the staff in reorganizing, I won't argue that Leslie Fish is a poor artist, but I think we can all agree that 'that' particular sub-forum isn't nearly popular enough or engaged in enough to warrant it being the primary focus of any prospective new members as to what they see when they first enter the site and so it got moved to lower on the page.

Thanks for listening guys! I wish our new staff well!
