List Everyone That Has Controlled Where You Live Right Now

Saw this on the Twitter and I found it amusing. Basically listing everyone that's controlled the territory your currently residing on.

For example this fellow below lives in a suburb of Istanbul Constantinople.



Busy place in history clearly.

And since I'm away from home I can confidently state who controlled the land I'm currently in right now without going too crazy!

Well, sure. If I'm counting the EU, I should count them, too. Though it's a bit hard to phrase, because although while the EU claims to be a voluntary league, it does outright state that it has a certain amount of power. The Germans, meanwhile, doggedly kept up the fiction that the sovereign country of the Netherlands still existed. It was under a military government that consisted entirely of Nazis, but it was totally still independent, of course. Or did anyone wish to... [MENACING PAUSE] ...disagree?

I'm kinda bummed. Thought this would be a great exercise, especially for all of the autists on the forum from exotic locales where their mental plights go undiagnosed.

Especially wanted to see folx from warm, receptive areas like the Balkans or Caucasus or Central Asia who have had traditionally incredibly welcoming cultures that allowed so many people to visit their lands and mingle with their peoples or whatever.

Maybe I'll pull a 49ers Football and just start tagging people.
