Learning-Problems

Anybody here ever have a problem even knowing or latching onto what is being said or presented for lessons?

I’ve tried gaining skills via Coursera and I have to say all the classes I’ve chosen more-or-less make me confused AF and unable to keep track of what’s being said no matter how simple it is presented

I’ve had the same problem with my Accounting Teacher who gave everybody F’s when we couldn’t understand ANYTHING she was trying to teach us in class and had to give extra points so we could all pass with a D at the end

Same with my time being forced to work under my elder brother who was trying to “teach me” business with big stacks of paper and presentations and making me go through meetings he kept saying was the “watered down” version of things

I somehow have an easier time understanding Fictional Lore Videos than I do with understanding actual History Videos

Others don’t seem to have the same problem as me and sorta expect to sorta brute force it into me even if I can’t understand the basics till now

And I tend to have it surprisingly easier depending on the presentation of the knowledge, like when I listened to Personal MBI and got its lessons easy, while now I have a harder time getting Product Management For Dummies

@CarlManvers2019 Different people learn in a different manner, so what you describe is not surprising. What you say sounds like an issue with concentration, which is something I too have albeit nowhere to the extent you describe. For me, concentration problems were solved most easily by taking notes - be it during lessons, or when reading. I would actually take notes on powerpoint presentations which professors often provided to us - and which themselves were notes on the literature. Then I'd go and take notes from actual books. At any rate, taking notes forces you to a) concentrate and b) think about what you are reading, which in itself also forces you to concentrate.

If the above doesn't work, then I wouldn't know.

Fair

My problem with taking notes is either, I take too long writing or even typing things down

Or as my elder brother who more or less unintentionally psychologically abused me for two years whilst trying to legitimately help me, only now confessed, I really wasn’t cut out for business given he tried forcing the note taking thing and even during said meetings I could barely latch onto a single sentence

Yeah, probably concentration, maybe I should go with history books instead of history vids

I've always found taking notes to be self defeating, personally.

You need to stop talking about it that way.

It has been one day Carl. One day. These are what, video recorded courses? How many of them could you have possibly watched?

I’ve tried Coursera before a few weeks back

Mostly because my sister’s making me do stuff

Kinda lost it a few minutes in from the classes I chose

I’m too used to being able to only really learn so well stuff which I can get the basics of and truly force myself into studying without too much frustration

If you cant force yourself through something annoying how are you ever going to feed yourself? My job is annoying but I still make it through the shift.

Only reason I managed to pass before was mostly due to only getting by barely and doing way better with what I’m likely already good at

That or learning via other methods, I managed to understand basic accounting way better with a For Dummies book than relying on what I got from my professors

How do you work? You must get your money from somewhere.
