All my dad said would be so great would be that South Korea gets a big supply of cheap labor and thus that would somehow lead to great things....it’s only now that I know that can screw things over

That depends on how it happens, unless china collapses or is otherwise paralyzed they will try to get the deal the Soviets demanded when they let the germans unify, no new us bases closer to their territory.

And I don't think North Korea will die so long as there's more Kims, legitimate or no, alongside other higher ups to take their place

The fact that we just got a radio report with no visual confirmation makes this super suspicious, even though there's plausible explanations for a delay when there's a fertilizer plant involved.

He's probably alive....but he won't be for much longer the way he's chowing through all that rich and fatty food, Fatboy Kim already looks like Jabba the Hutt, I'm amazed he can even walk around with his gout, bad knees or whatever's afflicting him. He's gonna croak at some point the way he scarfs through all that artery-clogging food.

Kim is more a symbol than anything...he's just a political puppet while the real power players are behind the throne, the generals, political "advisors" etc. etc.....gotta love Soviet/Chinese style politics. Some people eat a LOT of food when extremely unhappy or under stress, it's a momentary bout of happiness for them from the shitty situation they find themselves in, and I wonder if that's what drives Kim's eating habits....that or he really is just a glutton psycho. Or both.

If and when he does croak? I predict something along the lines of "The Death of Stalin", but that's just a wild guess.

I remember seeing pics of a younger Kim wearing regular clothes, he was way thinner back then, given that I think he had time back then to get fat but only got fat more recently.....maybe he just doesn't exercise often anymore
