Israel eliminated US Patriot missiles due to ineffectiveness

Israel announced to stop using the Patriot air defense system in the context that this weapon has intercepted too few targets in decades of operation.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced on April 30 that Patriot long-range air defense complexes would be completely eliminated within the next two months but did not reveal the fate of this system. "We are reducing the number of combat batteries until this entire system stops working," said the commander of Battalion 138, the unit that operates Israel's Patriot complex.

The Israeli Air Force previously announced that soldiers operating Patriot missiles would be trained to convert to the Iron Dome short-range air defense system. This complex will be replaced by more modern systems such as David's Sling.

I'm waiting to see the deployment of the Hunter Drone. Armed with miniature smart bombs/missiles to target hordes of other drones for destruction. A shotgun armed drone would be cooler, but it would require a heavier platform to handle the recoil.

It's not made for the stuff they are facing.
It was made for aircraft and missiles.

It's like complaining THAAD is ineffective because it isn't good against Aircraft...

David's sling is indigenous to them so less red tape
Given Israel's close relationship with the USA I doubt it would have been that hard for them to get upgrades and ammo.

I think that they just decided their kit is superior.

Eh, doubt it.
Iron dome and all the ones associated are joint endeavors to a degree.
It might just be more reliable with the turmoil of the US government to rely on themselves over the US.

What's with the terrible grammar and formatting of the article? Bullets? Blocking? Shells? Is it some sort of AI generated news website?
