If the French win the First Indochina War, what happens to Algeria?

If the French win the First Indochina War, for instance, as a result of much greater US backing for France or something like that, what would subsequently happen to Algeria? Would it permanently remain a part of France? Would it still see an independence movement and even a guerilla war in favor of independence? Would the US be willing and able to use its own influence on France to get France to decolonize, arguing that Algeria is different from Indochina because the Algerian independence fighters are not Communists like the Indochinese independence fighters are?

Any thoughts on all of this? And what effects does this have elsewhere, on the rest of the world?
