It is with a heavy heart that the Boot is forced to make the following announcement. In these difficult times, as inflation runs rampant, war rages in Europe, and Justin Trudeau has run out of unique socks, a new and grave threat has arisen to threaten the future of this forum.
Many expert scientists,whose appearance as miniature Boots wearing lab coats is purely coincidental (DAMNIT COMSTAR), have discovered a dangerous new digital virus, digital novel coronavirus 2022. This horrific digital virus has the proven potential to transmit new and terrifying strains of COVID-19, including the Roseanne strain, the Ahhhnold strain, and most terrifying of all the Rickroll strain, to all who are exposed.
As such, in the interest of the cybersafety of our posters, we here at the Sietch are instituting the following measures, effective immediately. All users are hereby placed into mandatory quarantine in order to prevent the spread of this horrific virus. Only those who receive the blessing of St Fauci (PBUH) shall be permitted outside of the quarantine zone. Second, all users are strongly encouraged to wear proper protective equipment, such as the masks upon my avatar. The Boot assures you that masks do not unduly restrict breathing,even though the Boot, being a piece of footwear, does not breath. DAMNIT COMSTAR EDIT THAT OUT! Wearing forum avatar masks is the responsible and ethical thing to do for all of our safety going forward in these trying times.
Please rest assured that we have our top men(TOP MEN!) on the case, and if we all work together we will overcome this challenge. Not to mention that St Fauci badges will be on sale afterwards in order to raise money for forum hosting expenses and other initiatives going forward.
((OK, some fine print, we are doing this on the honor system, mods have been instructed to be hilariously over the top with this, and once we get it working we'll have a custom user badge. Meanwhile, in the spirit of the event, if you have an avatar (or are thinking of getting one!) go to Wear a Mask on Your Avatar! and play around with it, at the conclusion of the event avatars changes will be unlocked for everybody to facilitate changing back.
