Tyrion somehow manages to hire Guts as his Champion, the young man gives him a feeling that he’s more dangerous than his years suggest and Tyrion thinks that Oberyn maybe too emotional for the fight

Who wins? And how does the fight go?

@Shipmaster Sane
I know you know who’d win, but how’d the fight go or how would the winning occur in-terms of “tactics” since I don’t think Guts has grown physically powerful enough to wield the Dragonslayer at this point but still has his sharp mind and reflexes

At this point Guts was still using a sword that weighed something like five to ten times what a normal two handed sword would, and with relative ease, so he's far from a normal human. His strength is unbelievable, by human standards.

It's easy to infer Book!Gregor having different levels of physical ability, and it's hard to get an exact read on his skill or agility.

Guts beat Basuso, who I'd probably place above Gregor without some better picture of Gregor's actual talents as a swordsman, but it was made very clear that was a fluke coming down more to the failure of Basuso's axe than Guts' skill.

I think it's fairly obvious that Guts is going to press the attack as hard as he can unless he sees a reason to do otherwise. Gregor might not be prepared for how strong the smaller man is, Guts took more than one warrior off guard that way.

Bazuso almost cut his head off in that clash

Wouldn't Guts still be faster than Clegane? Clegane might win in a grapple, but Gut's sword was still heavy enough to hit like a warhammer. Actually, I think comparing young Guts to peak Bobby B isn't too far off.

It's not entirely clear, Guts wasnt really faster than anyone he fought pre-hawk, to my knowledge. He was just "technically faster" than "humanly possible" given the proportion of his sword to his body.

Then that should be enough to overcome Gregor. True, he's faster than people in-universe give him credit for, but that doesn't really mean anything other than most people think he's big and slow.
