It's an interesting premise, written by Ron Moore of Star Trek and BSG fame. Some good actors involved too, like Joel Kinnaman (Altered Carbon), Colm Feore (Bon Cop, Bad Cop), and Chris Bauer (The Wire). I'm picking shows/movies I love, in case you're curious. The idea is that the space race continues forth after the first landing on the moon, as NASA is more determined to one-up the USSR after they won another battle in the space race. The political machine and internal drama and tensions are interesting, but might not be everybody's forte. To give an example, Ted Kennedy delayed a trip to Chappaquiddick due to the Soviets landing first, which has some ripple effects.
It's not perfect, but it's certainly different. I haven't tried "The Man in a High Castle", which is the only other alternative history show I'm aware of.
